I am very happy to share this exciting news with all of you: my arrangement of “Passarim” has been chosen as a finalist for the prestigious International Jazz Orchestra Arranging and Composition Contest of the BARGA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2023! This year’s edition is a heartfelt tribute to the musical genius of Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim (25 January 1927 – 8 December 1994), also known as Tom Jobim, a composer who holds an irreplaceable spot in my heart.
The recognition of my work on this global stage is an unparalleled honor, specially considering that it will be performed live by the bandolim maestro Hamilton de Holanda, accompanied by the magnificent Barga Jazz Orchestra conducted by Mario Raja on August 26. I wish I could be there…
